See Details1. Suction Inlet Design and Piping Resistance
The diameter and length of the suction inlet, as well as the number of bends in the pipeline, directly affect the flow resistance of the fluid. Excessive resistance will weaken the self-priming effect.
Meijia's matching pipeline design solutions can effectively reduce resistance and improve self-priming performance.
2. Viscosity and Temperature of the Pumped Liquid
High-viscosity liquids are easily adhered to in the negative pressure zone formed at the suction inlet, leading to difficulties in self-priming.
Heating or using a low-viscosity medium can significantly improve self-priming capability. The screw pump body uses a highly efficient heat dissipation structure to help maintain a suitable operating temperature.
3. Suction Head (Liquid Level at the Suction Inlet)
The higher the suction head, the greater the gravitational potential energy that needs to be overcome, and the lower the pump's self-priming capability.
During the design phase, Meijia engineers will recommend a suitable pump model and installation height based on the actual site conditions to ensure reliable self-priming.
4. Gas Content and Liquid Compressibility
Liquids with high gas content tend to form bubbles at the suction inlet, reducing the effective area of the negative pressure zone and limiting self-priming.
Using a degassing device or pre-venting treatment can significantly improve the self-priming effect. Meijia's complete set of accessories includes a high-efficiency degassing valve to help users solve this problem.
